Mapture.ai Drone in a Box ready to be deployed with AirHub Drone Operations Center
AirHub and Mapture.ai have partnered to deliver a drone-in-a-box that can be controlled from the AirHub Drone Operations Center. The intuitive interface provides live video “at your fingertips”. No pilot skills are required, as all pre-flight checks are automated. The drone flies to the point that was clicked on the map. The camera can be adjusted and repositioned for a better view. When ready, the drone automatically returns to the box and recharges for the next flight.
With the upcoming Predefined Risk Assessment (PDRA) for drone-in-a-box operations, the system is ready to be deployed in the field. It is no longer required to have an operator or pilot next to the box. Instead, the system is connected to the internet through a 4G LTE datalink. The operator can simply log in and fly, even from hundreds of kilometers away. This opens the door for several applications including security and surveillance, bushfire detection, stockpile management and more.
The integration between AirHub and Mapture.ai was developed as part of the Drone2GO project, initiated by Rijkswaterstaat. The system will initially be used for incident management on Dutch rivers, for example tracing oil spills. The integration was successfully demonstrated on May 6th and independently evaluated by the NLR (Netherlands Aerospace Centre). These developments continue, together with other first-responders suchs a the police- and fire department.
