Bredata drone project

Breda (NL) is the first Dutch municipality to receive a permit to conduct drone flights beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) at the Hazeldonk business park, a sparsely populated area. On June 21, 2024, Alderman Carla Kranenborg-van Eerd was able to launch the drone from City Hall with the press of a button, allowing it to fly over the business park near the Belgian border.

At Mapture, we managed all aspects related to the drone operations. We prepared the SORA, coordinated agreements with the park owners, installed the system, and ensured that all flights were conducted in full compliance with regulations.

Firedepartment Glanerbrug Drone-in-a-box

We worked on the further development of an advanced Drone-in-a-Box solution for the fire department. The drone can be deployed directly from the central control room to quickly arrive at the scene of an incident. This provides the fire department with crucial real-time aerial footage, giving them a clearer understanding of the situation and enabling them to act more efficiently. This saves valuable seconds and allows emergency services to respond faster and more effectively.

Drone-in-a-box SORA

For drone-in-a-box operations, we developed a specific operations risk assessment (SORA) to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) with a drone safely. Proudly, we were the first in the Netherlands to obtain permission for this groundbreaking innovation in the drone industry.
